West Auckland Carpet Overlocking

Carpet overlocking in West Auckland

Carpet overlocking wraps yarn around a cut carpet edge to give it a finished stitched border and help contain loose edge fibres. We assess suitable offcuts, household mats and runners for customers across West Auckland from our Massey base.

What can be overlocked?

Suitable entry mats, ranch-slider mats, bedside mats and hallway runners can be made from carpet remnants. The carpet construction, backing and condition need to suit the job.

How do I get a carpet edging quote?

Call or text 021 082 95230. Include your suburb, the number of pieces, each length and width, and photos of the carpet and any curves or cut-outs. Tell us where the finished mats will be used.

Price, timing and arrangements are confirmed directly. Please arrange a visit before travelling.

Is overlocking or binding right for my mat?

Overlocking creates a yarn-wrapped border. Binding covers the edge with a strip of material. Neither is automatically the best choice for every carpet: appearance, carpet type, shape and intended use all matter.

Questions before you call or text

What is carpet overlocking?

Carpet overlocking is a stitched yarn finish around a cut carpet edge. It gives suitable mats and runners a finished border and helps contain loose fibres at the edge.

Can old carpet be overlocked?

Some existing pieces may be suitable, but worn edges or damaged backing need assessment first. Send close-up photos of the carpet, backing and edges rather than assuming every piece can be finished.

Do you overlock carpet for Henderson and Te Atatu customers?

Yes, enquiries are welcome from Henderson, Te Atatu and other West Auckland suburbs. The business is based in Massey, not a separate branch in each suburb. Call or text to arrange the job before travelling.

Does overlocking make a mat non-slip?

No. Edge finishing does not add a non-slip backing. Consider the floor surface and suitable rug underlay, and check that the finished mat will not obstruct doors or create a trip hazard.
